This company sends Drivers on runs with fake pick-up numbers, they will not provide the Driver the real pick-up number until the driver arrives at the shipper, they call it "Vetting the Driver", Tell that B.S. to the Driver thats checking in at the Guard Shack with 12 trucks waiting in line behind him at the Guard Shack !

Then they actually want the Driver that they just sent on a Blind run to call in for the correct "Pick-Up Number" !, Pure B.S. !, avoid Magellan Transport Logistics they will only waste your time to their benefit and put you behind schedule !, This DRIVER DOES NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL !

A common complaint that truckers complain about is that trucking companies  all too often hire "College Graduates" straight out of college and then have some young snot-nose kid telling a grown ass person what to do supposingly as the trucker's "Driver Manager", someone that more than likely has never been inside a Semi-Truck much less behind the wheel of one as the Driver, thus they have no idea of a Trucker's daily challenges or what's really involved in getting a load delivered to the customer on time in a orderly timely fashion.

Well at UpDike this perceived conception is doubly worse, why ?, because UpDike Distribution Logistics does not even bother to have a college degree as a prerequisite upon hire to become a "Driver Manager", instead they actually hire "High School Graduates" and place them over experienced Truckers.  I've even seen at J.B. Hunt where they were hiring rental car agents from Enterprise Rental Car and turning them into Driver Managers, UpDike Distribution Logistics Driver Recruiter is an Ex-Used Car Salesman, you guessed it, Logistics, the hurdles for entry are at an all-time low, the result of these ridiculous practices ?

Here's my story:
UpDike placed one of these High School idiots quote-unquote "Over me" as my Driver Manager, this person was placing loads on me without first checking to see if I had the hours available on my federal HOS-Hours of Service clock !, This of course resulted in the load being delivered late as per federal rules a Driver can only drive when he or she has driveable hours on their clock. 

Ok, grant it, situation occured, but here's the problem, load being late per UpDike Driver Manager not checking the Driver's HOS hours available is not the Driver's fault.  Here is where UpDike tries to pimp the Driver and tell the Driver that "We", "We are late so we can't charge the customer for Detention Time", my response to that is that "The load is not late of any fault of mine, the load is late because you failed to check my available HOS-Hours of Service hours available in order to deliver the load on time, Rookie" !, but yet I'm suppose to sit at the docks of the receiver, Coca-Cola for fucking FREE for 5-hours while this High School Graduate that caused the problem is still at Corporate receiving a hourly wage, pure BULLSHIT, yet let him tell it, "We are late". 

We my ass !, the only one that would have been taking a loss in that situation is me the "Driver", this High School Graduate was still receiving a hourly wage, yet wanted me to sit there at the customer for FREE for 5-hours, it's unbelievable actually that the United States Government even allows shit practices of such to even occur !, but eveyone wants their discounted food and discounted products for next to nothing and the trucking companies try and make that happen by consistently stealing hours from the Drivers trying to make them work for FREE, modern-day "Slavery" !, "HighWay Robbery" practically speaking !

As I told him, it's the Driver Manager's responsibility to check and make sure that the Driver has the available hours to deliver the load in a timely matter and on time BEFORE assigning the load to the Driver.  I think that most of us involved in Logistics know that, not to mention that the Qualcom system that UpDike Distribution Logistics uses is so antiquated that once the truck starts rolling the Driver cannot see the hours available because the Hours screen goes away.

HERE'S THE PROBLEM: 
After UpDike Distribution Logistics had deliberately assigned loads to me the Driver that could not possibly be delivered on time resulting in the customer informing the Driver that it would be a 5-hour wait before being able to unload the Driver, UpDike actually refused to pay me the Driver "Detention Time", actually wanted me to just sit there five extra hours for FREE !

Wanting to say that "We" are late, no it's not we because it was the stupid ass High School Graduate that did not check my HOS-Hours of Service time before assigning me the load, thus it was UpDike's responsibility to pay me detention time if the customer wanted to detain me and delay me, REFUSED !

. . . . . . . and upon my pointing out that I was not late as to any accord of my doing I was told by this High School Graduate that his Boss, John Lee a Korean said to tell me to "Clean Out My Truck !", you're fired.  Long story short, for requesting to be paid for my time of having to sit for 5-hours I'm fired, incredible. Maybe now you see why I label UpDike Distribution Logistics as "The Absolute Worst Trucking Company !" by no stretch of the imagination. 

To any customer that does business with UpDike Distribution Logistics be it:

You are systematically enabling UpDike Distribution Logistics's "Dictatorial" abuse of it's Drivers in this matter simply by doing business with UpDike Distribution Logisitics and your company will be listed in the Labor-Relations Lawsuit that I have every intention on bringing against UpDike Distribution Logistics !

UpDike Distribution Logistics is the very epitiomy of a saying that I've developed over the course of my Trucking career which is:

"Show me a Trucking Company that does not have a union, and I'll show you a Trucking Company that's abusing it's Drivers !"

After pointing out to this High School Graduate "Driver Manager" that he obviously did not know how to perform his job correctly, I was promptly told by him to "GO FUCK YOURSELF" !, there you have it, UpDike Distribution Logistics, a very professional company, sarcastically speaking of course !

Very smart people at UpDike Distribution Logistics, telling the very person that puts food on their table, the Driver, to "GO FUCK YOURSELF !", the person getting up at 3:00am, 4:00am sleeping in a truck, peeing in a jug, going without showers, eating a unhealthy diet to "GO FUCK YOURSELF !", incredible !

Most Drivers stay out for maybe 2 to 4 weeks at a time and then go home on vacation, I never took a vacation and stayed out for 8 weeks at a time, and the appreciation that UpDike Distribution Logistics showed me for that was to tell me to "CLEAN OUT YOUR TRUCK, and let's not forget, GO FUCK YOURSELF !".

. . . . . . . .  But wait, I'm not finish yet, the trucking industry has the equivalent of a credit bureau database called the DAC Report.  UpDike has went as far as to try and destroy my career via listing a bunch of BullShit on my DAC Report in an effort to give negative references to any future employers:

Never happen, the homeless broke my passenger window

All fabricated BullShit by UpDike Distribution Logistics, fortunately "HireRight" the Drivers Database has a dispute resolution process of which I've started, UpDike Distribution Logistics knows this, Obviously UpDike Distribution Logistics goal is to throw enough shit up against the wall and see what sticks, or in shorter terms, "Simply see how much problems they can cause the Driver for leaving their employment !"

WHY YOU MIGHT ASK ?, simple, because UpDike Distribution Logistics is a BULLSHIT-ASS company, if you apply for work there as a Driver you must be a really desperate ass, and if you are a customer using them same applies because there are simply too many other companies to choose from besides enabling this fucked-up company ! , and you should cancel all your contracts with them immediately for abusing Drivers !

"Jimmy Hoffa" the founder of the Teamsters Union died / disappeared fighting for the rights of "Truckers", and the same war / environment that he was fighting at that time still exists, "Drivers -vs- Corporations / Corporations -vs- Drivers", not shit has changed, Corporations are still abusing Drivers and if you are doing business with UpDike Distribution Logistics then you are part of and contributing to the the abuse of Drivers, simple !

The only reason that I drive is because my fallen Brother was a Army Diesel Mechanic and always wanted to get his CDL and never did, upon his passing I went and got the CDL in honor of him, honestly I don't think that he knew or had any idea what it was that he was wishing for now that I've been through more than one less than reputable Trucking Company like UpDike Distribution Logistics !, by education I'm a AeroSpace STC Modifications Design Engineer, Patent Draftsman and Architectural Designer, you can check the Drawings to TERRAVITA Golf and Country Club in ScottsDale, Arizona, your find my name on them, "Honor Graduate", ITT Technical Institure / DeVry University !

My only living Brother is a Navy Nuclear Engineer out of the Navy's Nuclear Power School having served on the USS Norfolk Aircraft Carrier and the USN Jacksonville Los Angeles Class Fast Attack Submarine and has now been managing a Nuclear Power Plant for Florida Power and Light for the last 35 years !

My Mother the Military wife, half Cherokee Indian was a Surgical Technologist for 30 years and died of Lymphoma Cancer at Lawnwood Medical Center where she worked, they placed her in the Presidential Suite of the Hospital for her years of Service, upon her passing we flew her body back to Augusta, GA and all the surgeons that she worked with in the ER and Surgery flew with her body and carried her to her final resting place as her Pallbearers, all her Pallbearers were Surgeons !, she raised us not to be racists, but unfortunately I chose one of the most racist places in the USA to live, ARIZONA !

The U.S. Navy offered me and my wife the opportunity to enter Naval Intelligence as a Husband-Wife team at the age of 17 and 18 we were on delayed-entry contract, won't say anymore about that !

But I will say this, in my 55 years on this earth, I have never seen a Shasta ass company such as UpDike Distribution Logistics in my entire life !

My youngest son is a USMC Silent Drill Team Rifle Inspector and now against my wishes a Phoenix Police Officer, I would have rather seen him stay in the Marines compared to protecting these racists here in Phoenix !

Me ?, I have a 120 acre ranch here in Lake Havasu, Arizona, and a House/Home and Restaurant in Mexico south of Mexico City, have lived in Mexico now for 13 years south of the Border !, not bad for a Black America I guess  !, 2 years with two Cancun Condos directly on the beach with the beach as my front yard !

. . . . . . . . when I came back to the USA after having lived in Mexico for 9 years straight, I actually had to get use to being "Black In America" again, because in Mexico it made no difference, so I imagine that I found down in Mexico exactly what I was looking for, the "Escape of Racism in the USA" !

Currently working my way back to Mexico to my home in Mexico after a 3-year deportation from Mexico for 3-years, have not seen my daughter or wife in Mexico for 3-years ! Innocently done, in Mexico when one has a child born in Mexico the Mexican Government actually gives one Mexican Citizenship, so I stopped doing the 6-month run to the border to renew my Visa, didn't know that I actually had to apply for the CitizenShip, so upon discovery that I had overstayed by 3-years Mexico deported me for 3-years, that ended last December, I can go home now !

When I go back home to Mexico now I'll have dual citizenship, 50% American and 50% Mexican !

Drivers always remember that just as a company are interviewing you to also be interviewing the company and at the first sign of BULLSHIT to do yourself a favor and do it moving to another company !

For this reason along I always keep at least three companies in the interview process because these BULLSHIT trucking companies will string you along and then tell you some bullshit at the end of the process.

For this particular company QUALITY all that's needed to realize that there is nothing QUALITY about QUALITY is to check their reviews, which are by and far for the most part negative reviews.




EXAMPLES:

Been Here for a while. I run 91-100+ Hours per pay Period and receive half of that on my check. The dispatcher is a former driver who took the job after an injury and she sucks at it. Shows favoritism and does not pay you for all your runs.

You will work full time but only be paid for half of that on your paycheck. They give you excuses and say that they have to audit your people net and never do it. My checks are $1,000 after taxes and does not pay for rent

I have been looking for a full-time driving job for the last month. I have all my route information on a tablet I keep in my pocket along with all my route sheets and plan to file a grievance with BOLI after I leave. Stay away from Quality Carriers it's not worth the headache they will surely give you

Quality Carriers have several affiliates, one of the them is FT Silfies/Donmoyer with their corp. office in Ono, PA. This review reflects my experience with this particular affiliate based in Ono, PA, now part of Quality Carriers. The initial, probably good intentions of this firm go down the hill upon a closer look so any job seeker, esp. drivers should be aware of their problems. Their problems are mostly related to inexperienced management which besides other things reflects the lack of respect for their drivers whom should have been their most valuable asset and without whom the firm will collapse. Despite the act their upper management puts on during the orientation, more less to overwhelm their new recruits, the firm is showing some serious problems.

First major problem is their outdated equipment where their trucks and trailers, delivering 80,000 lbs 90% of time, can be decades old. They have newer equipment but that is allocated to chosen seniority based employees only. Their tractors are showing wear and tear in every possible way (beat up, extremely dated and dirty, and are barely able to pull the full capacity or 80K lbs. The same can be said about their trailers which leak air from most of their valves. Once the new driver realizes that most of their clients are based in NY City he'll understand the seriousness of pulling 80,000 lbs on extremely busy major highways while using old equipment. Second big problem is their business strategy where management often makes promises they never meant to keep. That relates to the absolute lack of mutual respect related
 to relationships between drivers and management as well as among drivers themselves. One other big issue is also the low wages where the actual percentage earned from each delivered load barely comes to 50% of the wages promised by management at the hiring point. Driver often realizes that after prorating his income by actual hours worked he earns as little as 6-9 $/hour. 

SAIA LTL FREIGHT - Listen Drivers, Not Worth It, Keep Your Money In Your Pocket

This company will invite you to their Driver Orientation for the on-board hiring process, but here's the thing, the orientation is non-paid, they will pay you nothing and provide zero support while taking their slow ass time to process you, meanwhile you'll be sitting in a Hotel at your daily cost waiting for your drug test results to return, rest assure that if the hotel cost was on their dime they would streamline their orientation costs down to a 3-day orientation like every other trucking company , and if you call them on it or make mention of their scam of wasting your money they will terminate you from the on-boarding process, ludicrous, I've posted the scenario below, you be the judge for yourself:

"Tammy@Saia LTL Freight - Hey Carl you are in Contingent offer.  Deanna will be calling you to come in to do Road Test and DOT Physical and Drug Test"

"Hi Tammy, Road Test and DOT Physical and Drug Test taken, what  happens from here ?, are we basically waiting for drug test results to return before starting orientation ? 

Another question is it possible to transfer me to Phoenix, AZ, Odessa, TX, La Feria, TX, Laredo, TX, Houston, TX, and/or Dallas-Fort Worth, Las Vegas, NV, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA or San Francisco, CA. and have me do my orientation and be based out of one of these areas ? 

I ask because here in Chicago there's public transportation within the metropolitan area but not available 24/7 to and from the suburb of Burr Ridge. Illinois where the SAIA LTL Freight terminal is located here in the Chicago area, basically I've been catching the train and bus as far as it goes and then taking a Uber for the last leg of the daily trip to the SAIA Burr Ridge Terminal at a cost $35 round trip daily. 

In following locations this would not be necessary,  there is public transportation readily available to the SAIA LTL FREIGHT Terminal in Phoenix, AZ, Odessa, TX, La Feria, TX, Laredo, TX, Houston, TX, and/or Dallas-Fort Worth, Las Vegas, NV, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA or San Francisco, CA."

"Hi Tammy, Chicago does not work for me anymore, I've been here 10 days already and still not behind the wheel of a truck making money,  this on-boarding process is really a lengthy and long drawn out process, been here since the 17th, I believe that SAIA is currently just waiting for Drug Test results to return I guess, meanwhile I'm basically racking up $650 in charges with zero income coming in, can SAIA place me in a hotel near the terminal,  that's been the case with every other company orientation that I've ever went to: hotel provided with daily breakfast , transportation to and from the terminal, drug test the first day on or off site, daily lunch during orientation,  normally a 3-day process:

Problem is that my previous company unexpectedly deducted an additional $1500.00 from my last paycheck,  actually backcharged me a Towing fee.

Which is unheard of as a company driver under load in service, truck got stuck in the desert on the way to the oilwell in the Oilfield in Texas, spent all night in the desert with the coyotes and rattlers until the sherriff's department found me at 4:30am, no cellular coverage and CB radio out of range

This unexpected deduction has made my relocation to Chicago a bit difficult, but I'm willing to go the course, I'm no quitter.

This is why I asked for assignment to another terminal, was loadsheding costs. As a OTR driver I don't maintain a car, wasted too much money on cars previously, Mercedes, BMW, Porsches, etc. material stuff.

Instead of making car payments now I take that money and make land payments, it's a better investment, I have 120 acres in Arizona,  equivalent to 60 football fields, so that's my formula now.


Received your email and a email from my previous company a Halliburton Oilfield services subcontractor upon waking up, they deposited at least a third of the monies they deducted from my check so im good now."

Pure unadulterated BULLSHIT, here's the thing, the SAIA Chicago terminal is not even located in Chicago it's located outside of Chicago in the fucking boonies in Burr Ridge where hotels are upwards of $200 USD per night, the CTA-Chicago Transit Authority does not even go there, their terminal is not located inside of the Chicago area like most trucking companies in the area !

Any other trucking company provides Hotel and transportation via a van or etc. to and from their company orientation knowing that it makes no sense for a OTR driver to maintain a personal vehicle because a OTR driver is always on the road all over the country, maintaining a personal vehicle is a complete waste of money !

OTR Drivers you have been warned, as previously stated, keep your money in your pockets and stay as far away as possible from SAIA LTL Freight, they are a complete waste of your time and most importantly your hard earned money !

Note:

For the record, I was here in Chicago from Odessa, Texas , SAIA LTL Freight gave zero thought to that fact !

I've heard of "Driver Abuse", but "Applicant Abuse" is a new one on me, if this is how they treat their Applicants, I can only imagine the abuse their Drivers suffer !

Drivers don't be fooled by this company's old photo, all of their equipment is so old that you will be lucky if you make it out of the yard.  The equipment is guaranteed to breakdown on you the only question is where, on the highway or in the middle of the desert leaving you stranded with the coyotes all night !

To add insult to injury this company Bold Logistics a Halliburton sub-contractor will also deduct their company costs from your paychecks like a $985.77 USD towing cost, and even if you leave terminating your employment with them following their instructions to the letter of where to leave their PPE-Personal Protective Equipment with and whom they instructed they will still charge your last paycheck $272 USD.

In addition to another $185 Drug and Alcohol testing fee racket they got going again to make  money off the back of Drivers, I've had to pay a Drug and Alcohol testing fee before in Chicago at a Urine analysis clinic, my cost was $60 total and done by professionals, not the $185 Drug and Alcohol fee that the crooks at Bold Logistics are charging and doing it themselves !

The crooks at Bold Logistics took my last paycheck and carved it up to their pleasure without authorization on my part, never did I sign off on anything giving Bold Logistics authorization to deduct their company cost like Tow Truck fees from my paycheck:




the only authorization they had was to deduct was for their ridiculous $185 Drug and Alcohol fee, not a $985.77 Tow Truck fee while under load !

Not to mention that the Sheriff Deputy that found me in the desert at 3:00 am in the morning mention that he was familiar with Bold Logistics in that he had worked in Monahans, TX as a Sheriff Deputy and had previously responded to a call at the Bold Logistics yard of a Bold Logistics Driver in a white mustang waving a gun around.

This sounds typical of Bold Logistics environment in that upon my arrival I was told of a previously knife fight that had recently happen between two Bold Logistics Drivers where one driver pulled a knife on the other driver who grabbed a chair and beat him down.

Drivers you have been warned, if you go into this situation you are setting yourself up for failure !

This company Bold Logistics made the following un-authorized deductions from my final paycheck mad because I decided to leave and left me with a $286 paycheck without any notice knowing that I was travel on the road !

$985.77 Towing Fee (Stuck in the Desert all night)
$272.00 Safety Equipment (Which I turned in !)
$185.00 Drug and Alcohol Test

$1442.77 Total Deducted left me with $286

Pure Crooks, reporting them to Halliburton, Better Business Bureau, OOIDA.com - Owner Operators and Independant Drivers Association and www.RipOffReport.com .

For the record I was working as a "Company Driver" not as a Independent Contractor, it's un-heard of a company deducting the company's cost of towing fees from a Company Driver's paycheck, pure BULLSHIT, nothing less than crooks, I cannot believe that Halliburton does business with a corrupt company as Bold Logistics, unless Halliburton supports the corruption of companies like Bold Logistics and are just as corrupt as Bold Logistics !
